How it works
QR code scams (sometimes called 'quishing') have grown fast — fake parking tickets, fake payment codes stuck over real ones, tampered restaurant menus. This tool decodes the QR code entirely in your browser, then checks the destination link's domain age, DNS health, and whether it resembles a known brand — all before you actually open it.
If the QR code contains something other than a web link (Wi-Fi details, a contact card, plain text), it's shown as-is since there's no destination site to check.

Frequently asked questions
Is scanning a QR code itself dangerous?
No — decoding a QR code just reveals the text or URL it contains. The risk comes from what you do next (visiting a malicious link), which is exactly why this tool checks the destination before you click through.
What is 'quishing'?
It's phishing delivered via QR code — a fake code (often a sticker placed over a real one, on a parking meter or menu) links to a scam payment or login page designed to steal money or credentials.
